The Inco Triangle Digital Archive

The Triangle, as it was commonly called, was a monthly publication produced by the International Nickel Company, “Inco” (now Vale Canada Ltd.), for its employees between the years of 1936 and 1998. For those born and raised in the area, the Triangle was a widely read household fixture.

The Triangle published stories about communities around Inco facilities, including Copper Cliff, Coniston, Sudbury, Port Colborne and others. Publications included photos and stories about the mining industry, local communities, sports, entertainment and more. The Triangle also contains many family photographs! This publication is a window into the lives of this area’s residents across seven decades. In it, you will find stories of the people who built, powered and sacrificed for the industry that gave rise to our community.

The Inco Triangle Project

This project was originally launched in commemoration of the 125th anniversary of the community we know today as the City of Greater Sudbury.

Greater Sudbury Museums completed the project in partnership with the Greater Sudbury Public Library, Vale Canada Ltd. and Cambrian College and with financial support from the Government of Ontario.
