Anderson Farm Museum Heritage Society (AFMHS)

Formed in 2007, the Anderson Farm Museum Heritage Society is a group of dedicated volunteers that runs three free annual events at the Anderson Farm Museum: Rock the Farm, the Fall Fair and the Christmas Tree Lighting.  

The Heritage Society works in partnership with the City of Greater Sudbury and the Greater Sudbury Museums to see the Anderson Farm Museum preserved, protected, expanded and further developed for future generations.

Copper Cliff Community Action Network

The Copper Cliff Community Action Network (CAN) is a group of citizens who care about their community and, through their collaborative effort, work to make their neighbourhood the best it can be. This group organizes and runs the Copper Cliff Museum Tree Lighting each winter.

Greater Sudbury Public Library

The Greater Sudbury Museums work in partnership with the Greater Sudbury Public Library to offer free public programs at both Library and Museum locations. The Museums work very closely with the Local History Librarian to document the area’s history and provide access to resources for local history research.

Walden Community Garden

The Walden Community Garden is a dedicated group of volunteers who maintain the beautiful garden and food forest located at the Anderson Farm Museum. The garden is a space for community learning, and a portion of the produce grown there is donated to the Walden Food Bank.

Walden Lions Club

Chartered in 1972, the Walden Lions Club has been helping the community of Walden for 50 years. From lobster parties to park building, to helping the community, they do it all. “We Serve” is the Lions’ motto and every Walden Lion ensures to serve with uncommon kindness, putting the needs of our neighbours, our community and our world first.  

The Walden Lions Club runs a free Easter Egg Hunt for children at the Anderson Farm Museum ever year. 

The Walden Lions Club also operates free activities for children at the Anderson Farm Museum Heritage Society’s Fall Fair.

Walden Seniors and Pensioners Woodworkers

The Walden Seniors and Pensioners Woodworkers are a part of the larger Walden Seniors and Pensioners group. They make use of the Woodshop located in the Granary building at the Anderson Farm Museum. They are valued volunteers of the museum, helping with many projects and events over the years.

WinterCarnival

Walden Winter Carnival

The Walden Winter Carnival is Greater Sudbury’s longest running winter carnival and one of the longest running carnivals in the North! This amazing event is run entirely by volunteers. It features indoor and outdoor events at multiple sites and has something for everyone!
